Yemen is considered the birthplace of coffee dating back to early cultivation by the Sufi Monks in the 15th century. Unfortunately today, the Yemeni Civil War has created one of the world's worst humanitarian conflicts as destruction has raged for over a decade. In support of the local coffee farmers and their tireless dedication to continuing the tradition, we are proud to feature our Yemen Mocca Sanani as our offering in the Roaster Reserve Series. This coffee is handpicked and dried on rooftops in the dry mountain terrain giving it the signature cocoa, spice profile associated with this rare coffee.
